Starting 2015 off right... paddling with the Boys Jan. 2, 2015
The middle area of the Wekiva River is loaded with birds this time of year and man were they out today! We saw Great Blues, Little Blues, Tri-colored Herons, Limpkins, White Ibis, Anhingas, Great Egrets, Black Crowned Night Herons, Ospreys and Cormorants just to name a few. After the Sun burned off the morning fog the Turtles came out to warm on the logs. We saw Yellow-bellied Peninsula Cooters along with their cousins the Red-bellied Cooters. The Red Maple Trees are already starting to flower and so are the Spatterdock Water Lilies. The river is ever changing but always a great place to spend with the boys!
