Running Emerald Cut May 28, 2015

We were the first ones on the river this morning and Emerald Cut always holds great treasures. The big Gator was out along with his mate and a half dozen Turtles. A Limpkin with an Apple Snail in it's beak let us drift on by just feet away. The Great Egret showed itself several times and the Damsel Flies are all over the blooming Spadderdock Water Lilies. The Sunfish are on their beds on the river bottom and the water is so clear you can see the Minnows swimming along the river's edge. The Great Blue Heron and Swallow-tailed Kites were out enjoying the day as we were. With the clear, cool river, sandy bottom and the thrill of some fast water, this has to be one of Florida's most amazing places.

Hi Jen and Kenny,

Great set of photos! These capture well the beauty of the rivers we kayaked, and of us enjoying ourselves. Ken is a super guide! We had such a good time.

After we finished kayaking, based on Kenny’s description to us of the town of Mount Dora, we drove there and spent the remainder of the afternoon touring around. The architecture reminded us of a quaint New England town. We had some great ice-cream downtown.

We’d be pleased to write a review of our trip experience.

Cheers,
Michael & Chriss
