Kayaking the 2nd day of Winter...Florida style 12-22-13
Myra and Jill came up to Mt Dora from Ft Lauderdale and decided to experience some of Central Florida's waterways. The Wekiva River is a great place to take a leisurely kayak trip. Fall is showing off her colors even though it's the second day of Winter. As they paddled downstream the wildlife started to show up. White and Glossy Ibis were rooting around and the Great and Little Blue Herons were out fishing. The Osprey showed up with a successful catch while the Great Egrets and Anhingas were also giving it a go. They got to see a few Alligators and several Turtles were sunning themselves too. The Male Cardinal flew in as if to say hello and the Spatterdock are in full bloom to add a splash of yellow to the river. The colors of the seasons are ever present on the river and it's always a great place to spend the morning ;-).
