55 degrees with full on Sunshine...Jan. 22, 2014 was a beautiful day for kayaking!

It was a super birding day! We started off thinking the weather would effect our trip but Mother Nature had different plans and took great care of us. Like the birds, we stayed next to the tree line and let me say this... they were stacked up in there feeding. At 1 spot there were Wood Storks, Sandhill Cranes, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Little Blue Herons, White Ibis and Tri-colored Herons all within 50 feet of each other. The Gray Catbird was making a meal at the Duckweed buffet, we found a pair of Limpkins and several Anhingas. We got to see the Ospreys too. One eating his catch and the other one fishing, crashing into the river looking for a tidbit. There were Wood Ducks and Hooded Mergansers and the list goes on and on. The sun was shining overhead and that beautiful Florida blue sky was with us the whole time. The water is clear, you can see the Spring in the river again and we can't thank Mother Nature enough for her surprises!
